Three kinds of video on Dzen
On Dzen (dzen.ru, a large Russian platform for articles, channels and video) a clip can live in three places, and that decides what you copy.
A video post. Published on its own at dzen.ru/video/watch/<id>; paste that address into Skachok and it works every time.
A short. A vertical clip at dzen.ru/shorts/<id>. Also downloads directly; see the Dzen Shorts guide.
A video inside an article or post. The article opens at dzen.ru/a/<id>, and the clip sits in the text as a player. This is the case behind searches like "download video from a Dzen article" or "save a video from a Dzen post". The article link is no use to Skachok: the service downloads video, it does not parse texts. You need the link to the clip itself. Feed posts work the same way.
What can be embedded in an article

The first five rows are good news: the clip has its own page on a supported platform. The last two are an honest no. A video file uploaded straight into the article editor has no separate address, and the service cannot pull it out. It turns up in older articles and short posts; newer ones usually embed a clip from a Dzen channel or YouTube.
How to find the real video link
The task is to turn the player into the address of the clip's page. Methods from simple to advanced.
The title or logo in the player. A Dzen video embedded in an article usually shows a logo and a "Watch on Dzen" caption in the corner, with the title at the top. Click either and the clip opens on its own page at dzen.ru/video/watch/…; copy that address. YouTube works the same way. If a click starts playback instead of navigating, right-click the title and choose "Copy link address".
The Share button. Many embedded players have a share arrow with a "Copy link" item that gives the link to the clip, not to the article.
Right-click on the video. The browser offers "Copy video address", but with Dzen you will more often get a blob: string — a temporary address inside the tab, not a link; Skachok will not accept it.
The page source. For the Ctrl+U crowd. Search the article's source for video/watch/, youtube.com/embed/, vk.com/video_ext or rutube.ru/play/embed/ and put the id into the platform's regular address: youtube.com/embed/ID becomes youtube.com/watch?v=ID, rutube.ru/play/embed/ID becomes rutube.ru/video/ID. If none of these is there but the video plays, it was uploaded straight into the article and has no page of its own.
Download a clip from a Dzen article step by step
- Open the article on dzen.ru in a regular browser and scroll to the player.
- Find the clip link with one of the methods above:
/video/watch/,/shorts/, or a YouTube, VK or Rutube address. - Go to the Dzen page on Skachok or the home page, paste the link and click "Find".

Saving a video from a Dzen post on a phone
Open the article in the Dzen app, tap "Share" and choose "Copy link" — for now this is the article link. Paste it into the address bar of Safari or Chrome, not the app's built-in browser.
Find the player and tap the clip's title or "Watch on Dzen". The clip opens on its own page; copy its address from the address bar or through "Share" under the player. A YouTube embed opens youtube.com or the YouTube app, which also has "Copy link".

How to save the videos of a Dzen channel
Skachok does not expand a channel link like dzen.ru/<name>: unlike YouTube playlists, which unfold automatically on Pro and Max, the service does not collect a Dzen channel's video list. You gather the links; batch download does the rest.
Open the channel on a computer and switch to the "Video" tab. Every card is a link: right-click it and choose "Copy link address" instead of opening clips one by one. Collect the addresses in a note, one per line; clips embedded in the channel's articles are added by hand.

Quality and what will not download
