How to download — step by step

    Copy the video link

    In the YouTube app, tap “Share” under the player and choose “Copy link”. In a browser, just copy the address from the browser bar. For Shorts the “Share” button is to the right of the video, next to the like and comment buttons.

    Tip: Any format works — youtube.com/watch?v=…, short youtu.be/…, youtube.com/shorts/… and links with a timestamp (&t=). We strip the extra parameters ourselves.

    Paste the link into Skachok

    Open skachok.com, paste the link into the field and click “Find”. A couple of seconds later a card appears with a preview, the title and duration, a list of qualities — 360p, 720p, 1080p, 1440p, 2160p — and the “Audio” block.

    Tip: You can paste several links at once — separated by spaces or on new lines. We process up to 3 at a time for free, 5 on Lite, 10 on Pro, 50 on Max.

    Pick a quality and download

    Click the quality you need — the MP4 file starts downloading. Up to 720p is served instantly; for 1080p and above we merge video and audio on the server: it takes from 10 seconds to a couple of minutes, and the progress is shown on screen.

    Tip: For music and podcasts choose MP3 in the “Audio” block — you get the 192 kbps soundtrack without the video.

On your phone and computer

On iPhone

On iPhone, open skachok.com in Safari and tap the quality you need — the file lands in the “Files” app → “Downloads” (the arrow icon in the address bar shows the progress). To move the video to “Photos”, open the file and tap “Share” → “Save Video”.

On Android

On Android, in Chrome or any other browser, the file is saved to the Download folder — it's instantly visible in “Gallery”, “Files” and any player. A download notification appears in the shade, and from there you can open the video with one tap.

On a computer

  • Copy the address from the browser bar, paste it on skachok.com and click “Find”. The file is saved to “Downloads”.
  • For 1080p and above we merge video and audio on the server — it takes from 10 seconds to a couple of minutes.
  • If your player has no sound, open the file in VLC or pick another quality.

FAQ

What quality can I download in?
From 144p to 2160p (4K), if the original has that quality. Without an account and on Free — up to 720p; Lite unlocks 1080p, Pro — 1440p (2K), Max — 4K. Signing up by e-mail gives you 2 days of Pro free.
Why do 1080p and above take time?
YouTube stores video above 720p as separate streams — picture and sound apart. We download both and merge them on the server, so such files take from 10 seconds to a couple of minutes to prepare rather than being instant. Up to 720p the file is served right away.
Can I download just the music as MP3?
Yes. The video card has an “Audio” block — choose MP3 (192 kbps). Paid plans also offer M4A (Lite), OGG (Pro) and lossless FLAC (Max).
Can I download Shorts and playlists?
Shorts — like a regular video, from a youtube.com/shorts/… link. A playlist link expands into a list of videos within your plan's “links at a time” limit: 3 for free, 5 on Lite, 10 on Pro, 50 on Max — and all of them can be downloaded with one “Download all” button.
Can I download a private video or a live stream in progress?
No. Private videos (available only by the owner's invitation) don't open, and neither do live streams in progress — wait for the stream to end, the recording appears on the channel and can be downloaded like a regular video.
What are SponsorBlock and “Audio track”?
On Pro and Max you can automatically cut sponsored segments out of a video (SponsorBlock) and download a video with an alternative audio track — if the author uploaded a dub in another language. Flip the toggle or pick a language on the video card to use them.
