How to Download Instagram Reels and Videos

Reels, videos and photos from public Instagram accounts in original quality up to 1080p — from a post link. No need to sign in to your account, and no software or extensions either.

How to download — step by step

    Copy the Reels or post link

    In the Instagram app, open the Reel, tap “Share” (paper plane) → “Copy link”. For a regular post, tap “···” in the top right corner → “Copy link”. On the website, copy the address from the browser bar.

    Tip: The link should look like instagram.com/reel/XXXX/ or instagram.com/p/XXXX/. The author's account must be public — private profiles can't be downloaded.

    Paste the link into Skachok

    Paste the link into the field and click “Find”. In a couple of seconds a card appears with the preview, the author and the available options: MP4 for video, JPG for photos.

    Tip: Parameters like ?igsh=… and ?utm_source=… at the end of the link can stay — we strip them ourselves.

    Download the file

    Click “Download” next to the option you need — the Reel is saved as MP4 in original quality, with no watermarks. For the audio, choose MP3 in the “Audio” block.

    Tip: On iPhone the file lands in Files → Downloads; open it and tap “Share” → “Save Video” to get the video into Photos.

Why download from Instagram

The app only lets you “save” to bookmarks inside Instagram itself — with no internet, or once the author deletes the post, the video is gone.

On your phone and computer

On iPhone

On iPhone, open skachok.com in Safari, paste the link and tap “Download”. The file is saved to Files → Downloads; to get the Reel into Photos, open the file and tap “Share” → “Save Video”. Photos are saved the same way — “Save Image”.

On Android

On Android, in Chrome or any other browser the file goes to the Download folder and shows up in your gallery right away. From the gallery you can send the video to a messenger or upload it to another network.

On a computer

  • Copy the address from the browser bar, paste it on skachok.com and click “Find”. The file is saved to “Downloads”.
  • For 1080p and above we merge video and audio on the server — it takes from 10 seconds to a couple of minutes.
  • If your player has no sound, open the file in VLC or pick another quality.

FAQ

Can I download from a private account?
No. We only get what Instagram shows publicly. If the profile is private and only followers see the posts, they can't be downloaded — even if you follow the account yourself: you don't sign in to your account on the site.
Can I download Stories?
Sometimes. Stories from public accounts don't always open — Instagram doesn't serve them to every request. Try pasting an instagram.com/stories/username/… link; if it doesn't work, try again later. Reels and posts download reliably.
What quality are Reels downloaded in?
The original the author uploaded — usually 720p or 1080p. It can't be higher than the source. Without an account you get up to 720p; 1080p starts on the Lite plan or with the 2-day Pro gift for signing up.
Will there be a watermark?
No. We serve the original file with no logos or handles — safe to use in an edit or publish on other platforms.
How do I download only the audio from a Reel?
After the search, choose MP3 in the “Audio” block — you get the 192 kbps audio track. That is how you save the original sound of a Reel.
Why do I get an error even though the account is public?
Instagram rate-limits requests and now and then returns an error instead of the video. Check that the link points to a post, not a profile, and try again in a minute. If the post was deleted or hidden by the author, it can't be downloaded.
