How to download — step by step

    Copy the video link

    In the VK app, open the video, tap “···” → “Copy link”. On the website, copy the address from the browser bar: vk.com/video-123456_789 or vkvideo.ru/video-123456_789. A clip has an address like vk.com/clip-123456_789.

    Tip: If the video opened right inside a post, tap it so it expands on its own — video-…_… appears in the address, and that link is guaranteed to work.

    Paste the link into Skachok

    Paste the link into the field and click “Find”. A couple of seconds later a card appears with a preview, the title and a list of qualities — 240p, 360p, 480p, 720p, 1080p, whichever the video has.

    Tip: Links from the feed with a ?z=video-123456_789 parameter work too — we pull the video id out of them.

    Click the quality you need — the file starts downloading right away. For music and podcasts choose MP3 in the “Audio” block.

On your phone and computer

On iPhone

On iPhone, open skachok.com in Safari, paste the link and tap a quality. The file is saved to “Files” → “Downloads”; to move it to “Photos”, open the file and tap “Share” → “Save Video”.

On Android

On Android, in Chrome or any other browser, the file goes to the Download folder and shows up right away in “Gallery” and any player. From there you can send the video to a messenger or upload it back to VK.

On a computer

  • Copy the address from the browser bar, paste it on skachok.com and click “Find”. The file is saved to “Downloads”.
  • For 1080p and above we merge video and audio on the server — it takes from 10 seconds to a couple of minutes.
  • If your player has no sound, open the file in VLC or pick another quality.

FAQ

Can I download a private video or one from a closed community?
No. We see the same thing as a user who isn't signed in: videos set to “friends only”, from closed groups and “subscribers only” don't open. Public videos from communities and users download without any problems.
Can I download VK Clips?
Yes. Copy the clip link (vk.com/clip-…_… or from the “Share” button in the “Clips” section) and paste it on the site — you get the vertical video in its original quality.
What quality can I download from VK in?
Up to 1080p if the author uploaded the video in that quality. We show every option VK serves. Without an account — up to 720p; 1080p starts with the Lite plan or on the Pro trial you get for signing up.
Do vkvideo.ru links work?
Yes. vkvideo.ru is VK Video's separate domain; links from it download the same way as from vk.com — both video-… and clip-….
Can I download a live stream?
Not while it's running. When the stream ends and the recording appears on the community's or author's page, you can download it from the usual video link.
How do I save just the audio?
Choose MP3 in the “Audio” block after the search — you get a 192 kbps track. Handy for concert recordings, lectures and podcasts posted as videos.
